"Weird Al" Yankovic was born Alfred Matthew Yankovic in
Linwood, California on October 23, 1959. He took accordion lessons as a child, not knowing that he would soon become the most
well-known accordion player in the history of rock-n-roll!! It's hard to belive that it's been over twenty years since
"Weird Al" released his first album and hit single "Ricky" (spoofing the "I Love Lucy" show). He's
gone on to become one of the most popular and well known masters of musical parodies in the history of music as well as having
won a grammy award (for 1984's Michael Jackson take-off "Eat It").

It was a long
way from where he started, recording his first record, "My Bologna" (a take off of The Knack's "My Sharona")
in the men's restroom across the hall from the college radio station he worked at in 1979. As musical comedians go, "Weird
Al" is without a doubt the most popular and widespread on the web. Indoing research for this web page, I was astounded

As "Weird Al" enters the third decade of his career, he still continues
to tour and record. His most recent CD, 2006's "Straight Outa Linwood", became his first CD release to enter
the charts at the number one position. He's also been featured as a subject on the VH-1 series "Behind The Music".
His most heartbreaking revelation on that show? That his fourth album "Polka Party" didn't go platinum and therefore
he couldn't afford the jacuzzi he was planning to buy! As Al himself is prone to say, he will keep on going until his
brains ooze out of his skull! Keep on rockin', Al!!
